Bogel Phantom – Red Blend
Starry Night Petite Sirah
Our 2006 Lodi Petite Sirah comes from a small vineyard on the east side of the Lodi appellation.
The very Limited crop from this vineyard resulted in deep, rich fruit driven flavors of ripe plums and black cherries with hints of anise and white pepper.
This Petite Sirah is ready to drink now, but will age well for several years to come.
Kendall-Jackson Avant Chardonnay
This refreshing Chardonnay bursts with intriguing layers of fresh pineapple, bright green apple, crisp Meyer lemon, juicy pear and wildflowers. The wine’s refreshing acidity and sleek mineral notes are balanced by a rounded mid-palate with a long, pure fruit finish.
Teatown Cellars Merlot
A dark, plum red wine. On the nose vibrant and bright black cherry and black berry fruits with just a touch of toasty oak. In the mouth a very Bordeaux like structure with intense black cherry flavors, bramble, herbs and underbrush, great acidity and a very reserved background of oak. Good power and length. A long, intense, slightly tannic and minimally oaky finish.
This wine will drink well with heavier fish, particularly Salmon and Tuna and will pair well with lamb, beef, pork and wild game grilled and roasted. Don’t forget braises and stews and with minimal oak it pairs beautifully with smoked (BBQ) meats.
Drink now and over the next 3-6 years.
Edmeades Mendocino Zinfandel
Edmeades Mendocino Zin is reminiscent of Sunday night dinner with the whole family: aromas of Great Grandma’s homemade cherry pie coming out of the oven, the fireplace roaring with oak logs and everyone looking forward to a great evening of wine, food, and camaraderie.
This year’s tannins are soft and supple, the cherry fruit is vivacious, and the addition of Petite Sirah and Syrah adds a nice rural feel with earthy notes and some nice structure. Aging the wine should help it evolve into a nicely layered and complex Zinfandel, with toast and smokiness from the oak picking up in intensity.
